Practice race sets the stage!

January 5th, 2008

Team Ghostspeed's Bruno Marques held true to his reputation of being one of the fastest sim racers on the planet on Saturday by taking the pole and the win in dominate fashion. Torrent's Petter Kaasa came home 2nd, this week making a pit stop unlike last weeks test race. This left many asking the question, did Torrent not go the race distance on fuel like last week to not show strategy, or did Marques make them push too hard. Orion's Shawn Purdy, rounded out the podium with a strong 3rd.

In the GT Class, class favorite Sim Racing for Holland showed it's strength as well taking the win. Wilfred van den Brink took pole and the win setting the fastest laps on track. Orion's Frosty St.Clair, who was just filling in and won't actually drive the GT car next came home in 2nd. But the real story may have been defending champ Kevin Brents starting dead last, to come home in the 3rd position. Brents showed that RC Motorsports plan to do anything but lay down to what some are calling the new teams to beat in the GT class. Don't miss the action next week, as this promises to be SSCA's best race to date!
